Kidz Can Help has partnered with KidSport Niagara with a new 10 year partnership to provide funding for a local child to play Ball Hockey each summer in Niagara.

Over the course the next 10 years Ethan (10) and Noah (7) have agreed to provide funding each summer for a child to be able to play summer ball hockey and have the chance to play organized sports along with a donation of 20 new ball hockey sticks to KidSport Niagara.

“When talking with my sons about what to do this summer to help continue our expansion beyond just collecting equipment and funding ice hockey programs, Ethan said our equipment can also be used for ball hockey and we can get the word out to get more stuff with the ball hockey programs,” said Jason Chase, Ethan and Noah’s father. “My kids have agreed to raise funds and sponsor $150 a summer for the next 10 years to help a child enjoy ball hockey.”

Perry Hartwick, president of KidSport Niagara was contacted a couple weeks ago about the idea and was happy to hear about the commitment the two young kids from St.Catharines had made and hoped others would take up the cause.

“Being able to tell a local child they can play organised sports for the next years 10 years during the summer is a great thing to have. It shows that no matter how old you are you can help make a difference in your community and I hope others take the lead from these two boys example,” said Hartwick.

Next up for Kidz Can Help is the kick off of their summer soccer program. Donations they will be looking for our soccer cleats, soccer balls and shin pads which will go to local kids who need some extra help for local soccer programs.
