This league is intended for anyone looking for physical activity who would feel uncomfortable playing in one of the many leagues already available to members of the club. The P.U.C. league assists physical and cognitively disabled youth and adults to be physically active and provide excitement and enjoyment to all participants. The P.U.C. league is available to anyone, regardless of age or how minimal or severe the disability. Access to the clubhouse and rinks is available to people with assistive devices including wheelchairs.
The Barrie Ball Hockey Club believes that all players should feel they are a valuable member of their team. To ensure this, players will be divided into teams based on their capabilities to ensure that each rink and/or team is of equal capability. We have two rinks to ensure each player receives adequate floor time and attention during the game.
At minimum, each rink will have 2 coaches on the floor at all times providing direction and assistance to the players. If your player needs additional assistance, you may also be out on the rink with them. If you feel your player may only need assistance at specific times, or if there are any other special circumstances, please do not hesitate to talk to any of the coaching staff. Our coaching staff is led by coordinators Katelyn Ball & Carolin Connell; both of whom are educational assistants with the SCDSB. Volunteer coaches are also invited to help out with no experience required.
The league runs for 12 sessions, every Tuesday night at 5:00pm at a cost of $84.07 +HST. Players are required to wear a helmet, shin pads, hockey gloves, and a hockey stick. If full hockey shin pad are uncomfortable for your player, they may also wear soccer shin pads.
We look forward to a great experience with all of the players. If you have any questions, please contact the club at 705-721-0198 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
