People with Unique Characteristics League
A new league offered at the Barrie Ball Hockey Club
Dear Parents/ Guardians:
This league is for anyone who would like physical activity and does not feel comfortable playing in one of the many leagues already available here at the club. Anyone can play in this league no matter how minimal or severe the disability.
We can also provide access to the rinks for people with assistive devices including wheelchairs.
We here at the Barrie Ball Hockey Club believe that teams should be evenly matched so we will do our best to make sure that lines of equal capability play against each other, in order to make sure that the players feel, at all times, that they are a valuable part of their team.
Each team will have 2 coaches, who can be on the rink at all times. If your player needs to be assisted then you may also be out on the rink with them. If you feel that your player may only need help at specific times please feel free to talk to the coaching staff of the team and they, along with Katelyn Ball and Carolyn Connell will work to help your player be the best they can be.
The safety equipment required to play are a helmet, shin pads, hockey gloves and a stick that does not have a wood bottom blade. If full hockey shin pads are not comfortable for your player they may wear soccer shin pads as well.
The P.U.C. league will start in early April. The cost to play will be $85.71 (plus GST) = $ 90.00 for a 12 game season over a 12 week period. Each participant
must be paid in full prior to playing. Along with their rink time, your player will also receive a team jersey and a participation award at the end of the season. Playoffs will be held on one night so that everyone can participate until the very end.
We look forward to experiencing hockey with you and your player.
