CBHA Canadian National Championships Day 1/2 Recap: Red Lite dominate, Ontario looks to turn it around

After two days of action in beautiful Richmond, BC the Montreal Red Lite remain the early favourites going 3-0 in the first two days of preliminary action. With a 13 goal differential teams are going to need to focus on both ends of the floor if they want a chance to pass the #1 team in North America and see gold this week! They are currently being leaded by Yannick Labonte (#23) who has 2 goals and 4 assists in the first 3 games.

The Edmonton Savages, Manitoba Selects, Newfoundland Blackhorse and Calgary Phantoms all have yet to lose a game as well as they chase down the Red Lite.

Ontario teams will be working the locker rooms looking for answers to get on track with a combined 2-6-1 record in the first two days.  The two victories have come against the 0-3 teams at the bottom of the standings.  In Tuesday night action, The Toronto Metro Orangemen got smacked by the Red Lite 7-0, while The North York Hitmen lost to the Vancouver Falcons 6-1 and the Niagara War Pigs gave up a 2-0 lead in the last two minutes of a game against the Edmonton Savages to hold onto a tie.  Not a good night for Ontario teams.
