The Barrie Ball Hockey Club’s Youth programming offers children aged 4 to 17 an opportunity to enjoy an exciting and affordable hockey experience in a safe friendly environment. Teams are put together with an objective to balance the skill level of the teams as much as is possible.

BARRIE VIPERS YOUTH LEAGUE (AGES 6‐17)

Our house league level of play encourages players to make new friends in a positive environment. The focus is fair play, equal play time, and fun for all. The emphasis is participation. Game nights can vary, but the typical nights that each division should expect to play are shown below. Times will also vary with starts as early as 5:30 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM on weekends.

The winter season will consists of 12 regular season games, with all teams making the playoffs and playing a minimum of 2 playoff games. THAT’S A GUARANTEE OF 14 GAMES!

Registration

Individual Player Fee’s must be paid in full and a player must be registered prior to playing. No partial payments are allowed. The program includes a sweater the child gets to keep, 12 regular season games and a minimum of two playoff games.

rising stars (BORN 2017-2018)

The cost to register per player is $110.62 + HST. You have a choice of participating in the program that runs for 1 hour on Tuesdays or Thursday at 5:30 pm. This is a 9-session instructional program for youngsters who want to learn the skills of the game through interactive shooting, passing and other drills. Players will also play a mini-game each week. Parent participation is welcome.

YOUTH elite division - team entry

Have a couple friends that want to play together, but you can’t do so within the restrictions of the co-ed leagues, and you don’t quite have enough for a full team? You can submit a group of friends, and we will combine the groups together as best as possible to form teams.

This division is designed for groups of friends that all want to play together on the same team. Teams will have a minimum of 12 players on the roster. Teams will need to provide their own coach who is at least 18 years of age and approved by the club. Have a couple friends that want to play together, but you cannot do so within the restrictions of the co-ed leagues, and you don’t quite have enough for a full team? You can submit a group of friends, and we will combine the groups together as best as possible to form teams. There are four age divisions that will be offered to accommodate the various age groups. This division has more of an edge and is designed to be slightly more competitive than our co-ed youth divisions. Players are eligible and encouraged to participate in both this division and the regular youth co-ed divisions.

Discounts are available for multi-player families; please ask at the office for details.

As is stated on the registration/waiver form, this payment is non-refundable once the team has been placed on the schedule or the player assigned to a team. Certain circumstances may dictate a credit or refund but at management’s discretion. A $30.00 administration fee is charged to process a refund.

COACHES:

We welcome parents who wish to participate in their child’s development in these programs, so please indicate your willingness to be a coach or assistant on your child’s pre-registration form.

EQUIPMENT:

Players are required to have a CSA approved helmet, gloves, shin pads, and a stick that does not have a wooden base. ABS/composite sticks are preferred and wooden-based sticks with plastic runners are also acceptable. Jock/Jill straps are optional but highly recommended.
