full league details

  • Each season lasts for 3 months: Spring (March-May), Summer (June-August), Fall (September-November), Winter (December-February)

Each season features 12 games plus playoffs (minimum 2 games)

  • -Games are three 10 minute stopped time periods scheduled in 60 minute blocks.

-5 vs 5 format with 3 on 3 overtime format for regular season (5 min run-time)

-2 minute minor penalties / 5 minute major penalties

  • -Roster Minimum: 11 players Roster Max: 16 players (Division 1 can have 18).

-Team organizers play for free if they have 11 other paid players. This free spot is often given to team goaltenders, but that is a team decision.

-Teams are required to supply their own jerseys or t-shirts. All jerseys must be the same colour and all team members are required to have a number on the back of their jersey to identify them.

-Even if a team captain submits their roster, all players must register individually whether online or in person to complete the waiver/registration form. Players failing to do so are considered illegal players, and any game they participate in will be considered a forfeit loss.

  • -Standard nights of game play are always preferred and we do our best to keep things consistent, but we prioritize an equal playing field as opposed to team availability for a better experience. We choose the best available night(s) that work for the teams in each division and try to stick with those throughout the season and playoffs.

-Teams are provided a section to give league management any scheduling preferences they may have. We do our absolute best to accommodate these requests. We cannot accommodate requests for playoff scheduling.

-Teams will play 1-2 games per week.

-Adult league games are scheduled weeknights from 6:30pm-10:30pm, and both Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-11pm.

  • Option 1: Team Fee Payment - $1681+hst. This options allows a team rep to deal with their own economics and collect the funds from teammates, however they accept responsibility for any uncollected payments. With more players on the roster, it allows the team to lower the cost per player. This fee can be split into two payments. $1000 is due before Game 1, with the remaining $900 due by Game 5.

Option 2: Individual Payments - $146+hst. Teams can choose to have each individual player responsible for their own payment to the club and not worry about dealing with collecting money. Team reps are still responsible for ensuring their team has a minimum of 11 paid players and are eligible to play for free if that requirement is met.

    Sponsorships

Teams may seek sponsorship opportunities from local bars & restaurants or any business supporter and the price per player will be reduced accordingly. Teams often choose to use the sponsor name in front of their team name and also represent the sponsor on their team jerseys. These are the responsibility of the team and Ballhockey.com holds no obligation to sponsors.
